Jennis is back from our western tour. It was very successful, we played some great festivals and gigs, met some amazing people and filled up our beauty banks with some awesome scenery. We got to witness some of the wildfires plaguing BC - very spooky. Thanx to all the organizers and hosts who helped with bookings and accommodations, etc.

I'm quite excited about the first showing of my paintings, and some of the musical events happening this month. See the details below.

It's been such a busy time that I did not prepare a wee essay this time around. Sorry. I'll get back on track for next month's newsletter.

Howdy Y'all.  
I've been painting off and on for about 30 years, but lately it seems to be playing a bigger role in my life. I'm excited to have my first art show at 'Silence' in Guelph. My paintings will be hanging there from Sept 22 thru Oct 20.  There will be two openings, one on Sept 22 and one on Sept 29, in conjunction with Canada Culture Days.
Building hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1-4pm, or by appointment.
Here are the details for the first opening: 
Silence invites you to the opening reception for mixed media artist Dennis Gaumond and video artists Nora Ruddock and Nathan Saliwonchyk. Please join us for an evening of art, music, and stimulating conversation. Wine, beer, coffee and kombucha will be served. This event is free and accessible to the public. 
  The events scheduled for the evening are:
7-7:30pm: Meet the artists
7:30-8pm: Artist's talk by Dennis Gaumond
8:15-8:45pm: Screening of Tinderbox (2017) and Q&A with artists Nora Ruddock & Nathan Saliwonchyk
9:15pm: Free sit-down concert with Dennis Gaumond and Black Cat Bone - 'wierd' interpretations of blues and rock classics, with Phil Bennett on bass, Tom Wolf on drums, Gary Diggins, Chris Dahmer and assorted musician friends.

Here are the details for the second opening:
On September 29, the artists will be presenting talks in conjunction with Canada Culture Days. Here are September 29 activities:
4:30-5:30 pm: Screening of Tinderbox (2017) , talk and Q&A with Nora Ruddock & Nathan Saliwonchyk
6:30-7:30 pm: Artist's talk and Q&A with Dennis Gaumond
7:30-8:30 pm: Reception: meet the artists
9-11 pm: 2 sets of musical performed by Jennis

The artist's talks are free of charge. $15 cover at the door for the Jennis performance.
